Holiday Socials | Park City Peaks Hotel | Park City, Utah
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009Tis the Season | Holiday Socials | Canyons Resort
Tuesday, December 15th, 2009This has been a busy weekend. The holidays keep us busy shopping and party planning but on Friday we were hosted by the Canyons Resort to enjoy A Taste of the Canyons. What a fun night. Party planners, former clients and their families were all invited to celebrate the holidays. The event began on Friday evening with dinner in the Grand Summit ballroom where we were introduced to the many restaurants and wonderful chefs available for all of our party planning needs. We dined on pork tenderloin prepared by the catering chefs, enjoyed couscous, stuffed chicken and ravioli’s to order by the Cabin Restaurant, cheese from around the world from the amazing Viking Yurt Restaurant. Everyone needs to know about the Viking Yurt. This amazing place sits on top of the mountain and can accommodate up to 32 guests for a fine dining experience. There was so much food I could hardly stand after enjoying it all! The big surprise was when Santa arrived with his bag of gifts for everyone. The kids were impressed to see him arrive and couldn’t wait to visit with him. After a quick visit and photos with Santa the kids were entertained with a giant screen where they played Wii for the remainder of the night while the adult guests danced and enjoyed the music provided by the Mark Chaney band. I had to take a second look when I heard “Hey Jude”! They made sure everyone was dancing and having a good time.
We finally called it a night and spent the night in a one bedroom suite at the beautiful Grand Summit Hotel. Our room slept 6! We had a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a king size bed, three twins and a queen bed. What a great getaway. This is a great hotel offering plenty of activities, The Village Shops, and a variety of restaurants. The accommodations are amazing and offer affordable rates for everyone during the summer or winter. Two of our favorite venues at the Canyons include the beautiful ballroom at the Grand Summit Hotel. There ballroom is one of the largest in Park City and can accommodate up to 350 for a seated dinner. The unique Red Pine Lodge at mid-mountain offers a beautiful atmosphere for dinner and dancing and a secluded ceremony site overlooking the mountainside. The best part about Red Pine Lodge is getting there. You and your guests are treated to a ride on the gondola – a short 13 minute ride up!
On Saturday morning we enjoyed one of the best breakfast buffets in town. We dined at the Cabin Restaurant with Omlete’s made to order, hot cakes, sausage, country potatoes, and to top it off an espresso. We must have gained 10 pounds in two days! The day ended with a trip to the Grand Spa where we relaxed and were spoiled with two treatments. We enjoyed a one hour massage and a one hour facial. The spa offers a variety of treatments, 8 treatment rooms, an olympic size swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna, steam room and a piece of heaven. I was so relaxed after this wonderful weekend I am ready for the holidays! The Canyons Resort offers so many different venues for weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal spa days & luncheons you want to be sure to check it out. We learned so much about the resort this weekend we invite you to call us and we’ll share all of the information with you or visit their website. Thank you to the entire staff at the Canyons Resort for a great weekend and for including our families. It was a great get-away! Happy holidays.

Chef Reuben led the team and Carrie made an incredible banana foster. The dessert station was busy all night.
Fashion Friday | Meet Jane Wang | White Couture Designer Bridal & Tuxedo
Friday, December 11th, 2009Meet the extraordinary Jane Wang! Her fashion sense is unique, modern, and exquisite. Known for her mermaids and textures, Jane is not only talented but equally wonderful to work with. The last time Jane was in Park City every bride who met her purchased her gown. Jane is talented and kind. She takes great interest in all of her brides. She has created custom gowns for our LDS clientele with gorgeous build ups that take them away from the traditional cap sleeve gown you will find at other shops. She personalizes every gown with a bit of flair only found in Jane Wang designs. Recently Jane designed a gorgeous gown for our client who is a former Miss Utah. Our client was specific about the look she was after and after suggesting a few changes here and there, Jane created the gown just the way our client asked.
Jane has become a personal friend. We brought in Jane’s designs to White Couture to feed our clientele a new look you won’t find anywhere else in Utah. She has become so much more! Last year, my family attended the Macy’s parade in New York City. We spent Thanksgiving day with Jane Wang and her adorable family. We shopped, saw the sites and ate a lot of M&M’s. Her daughter Alisha was a hit with my three boys. They played and explored the city together and had a wonderful time.
Last month when our team of stylists attended New York Bridal Market we visited with Jane and her staff. Alisha was there too! This is a family business run by an extraordinary family. Jane designs and her husband takes care of the marketing efforts. Alisha gets to comment on each of her mom’s creations. Although Alisha wasn’t allowed to disturb her mom or the models during the show, I invited Alisha to sit with me and tell me which of her mom’s gowns were her favorites. At the end of a very long day of runway shows and decision making, Jane joined Christina (White Couture Bridal Stylist), Pepper Nix (peppernixphotography) and myself for dinner at the wonderful David Burke’s townhouse where we ate, and ate, and ate some more. We finished our fabulous dinner off with cheesecake lollipops and drunken donuts a David Burke exclusive! I consider Jane a fabulous designer and a personal friend. If every one of our clients walked out with a custom Jane Wang, I know each would be pleased because of the personal care and attention to detail Jane creates.
Jane Wang began designing in 2006 and her designs can be found in every fashion magazine and at exclusive bridal boutiques around the United States. White Couture is lucky to have been selected as one of these boutiques. Be sure to visit our website for updated trunk show dates. You’ll love taking part in Jane’s show!
Stein Eriksen Lodge Spa | Grand Opening Celebration | Park City, Utah
Friday, December 11th, 2009Well it was worth the wait! Many of you were disappointed to hear the Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge would close in April to begin it’s face lift and many of us were looking forward to the renovation. Nine months just seemed a bit to long to wait for something that really didn’t seem to need updating. Well the wait is over and things just got better. I spent the evening attending the wonderful grand opening celebration for the Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge. It was a night offering many reasons to celebrate. We toasted with champagne and cocktails and savored in Chef Zane’s culinary sensations. Everyone was there to welcome us and show off what we have been waiting for. The service as always was impeccable and I left with my curiosity satisfied as well as my appetite.
Let me tell you what you have to look forward to…Sixteen new treatment rooms, four pedicure bowls, four manicure stations, on-site make-up specialists, hair stylists, hot tub, cold tubs, relaxation rooms the list goes on and on. Stein Eriksen Lodge is already one of my favorite places but this just tops everything. Brides are able to enjoy a wonderful getting ready area after having their hair and make up done by one of their talented stylists. I have a word of advice, If you’re smart you’ll stay one extra day and after your wedding weekend has come to a close treat yourself before you take off on your honeymoon with a couples massage in the amazing couples treatment room. Then spend the rest of the day lounging at their outdoor swimming pool because it now offers 2000 square feet of additional deck space and an outdoor fireplace to cozy up to at night. On a summer day, relax by the pool, enjoy the sun, and plan to stay all day. Chef Zane’s fabulous menu is available poolside. A culinary experience while you relax; what could be better? The pool area also has a hot tub. Tonight everything was steaming up with excitement. For you die hards the fitness center has expanded too. There are plenty of exercise equipment for everyone to get their work out. Day passes are also available for locals so you might want to think about booking a spa day even if you don’t have plans to stay the night. But you might want to pack an overnight bag just in case…you may never want to leave. Take a look at the renovation for yourself! Congratulations Stein Eriksen Lodge and thank you for a great party. Cheers!

Of course men are from mars and women are from venus...and men have a plasma screen television in their "relaxation" room. A great hang out for the guys on the wedding day!
Tip Tuesday|Winter Wonderland Wedding Reception|Stein Eriksen Lodge
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Part II of Skier marries Snowboarder. This winter wonderland wedding reception was just as amazing as the ceremony held under a birch and floral chuppah at the Silver Lake Lodge in Deer Valley. Immediately following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail and hors ‘doeuvres and sipped on champagne while they mingled as the snow fell lightly outside. The big picture windows of the Bald Mountain room allowed guests to see the snow fall in light flakes. After cocktails, guests were shuttled to the Stein Eriksen Lodge where they were greeted by great music provided by the Fundamentals. The escort cards (a replica of a Ski Lift Ticket with widget and all) directed guests to their dinner tables marked by ski run markers created by our staff. The table tops featured copper chargers with navy crinkle birch linens and copper organza chair ties on the already gorgeous mahogany chavari chairs. The menus were letterpressed with the bride and groom’s wedding logo and listed each course with it’s mouth watering description. Chef Zane of Stein Eriksen Lodge outdid himself with beautifully presented entrees while Chef Raymond created a gorgeous wedding cake flanked with glistening snowflakes. The guests never stopped dancing and the Fundamentals came back for an encore. What a party! What a night!
