A rubber stamp and a shipping tag can create a great DIY placecard or gift tag. Add a little chalk along the edge and you have a custom look.

Part of being good at your job is loving it!  At Soiree Productions our planners and event designers are dedicated to keeping your wedding or event unique.  We get bored when we see the same thing over and over again.  We love to clean our our closet at the end of each season and begin with fresh new inventory.  We design with a sincere look at your event and your budget.  We love reading about all of the new DIY ideas and love expanding on them, but as we too DIY we know how much time and labor goes into the design.  We encourage our clients to look through magazines and the internet and find ideas they both love and hate.  We get inspired to create a “look” that is right for our clients when we understand what interest them.  We encourage you to keep in mind that sometimes the DIY ideas are more costly because of the labor involved.  Talk with your planner about bringing your idea to life or ways to create the look that is right for you without breaking the bank.  In today’s times, it is important to stay on budget.  Our planners are dedicated to our clients 100% and that includes keeping you on budget with fun and creative ideas.  We pride ourselves at Soiree by keeping our designs unique.  We often see our designs recreated by other planners and so we come up with new ideas and designs.  Our clients rely on us to keep their wedding unique and special-no cookie cutter weddings at Soiree!  We love what we do and we have a passion for design.  We love to shop ETSY.COM.  So many DIY ideas are already done for you and we have found many items we can expand on making them extra special and personal!

We recently found honey jars that are perfect for wedding favors in our beehive state!  These are affordable and ready to go.  We have customized these by adding a ribbon in your wedding colors or a custom wedding label.  Have fun and get creative but keep in mind, DIY however popular it may be, takes your time and sometimes a chunk of your budget.  For more ideas visit our inspiration studio at Soiree.  The studio is open to the public and is complimentary.  Stop by and design your look!

Log Haven | Charisse + Chad | Soirée Productions | White Couture | Park City

Log Haven is a winter wonderland!  Driving up Millcreek Canyon offers wonderful views and then you will find yourself upon the unique Log Haven Restaurant; a 100 year old cabin that has been beautifully renovated.  On January 16th we had the pleasure of assisting Charisse and Chad with their amazing winter themed wedding.  Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.  A beautiful dinner for their family followed inside the library at Log Haven.  Over 300 guests stopped by that night to congratulate the happy couple.  Artisan Bloom filled the room with magnolia blooms and roses and soft candle light.   We had a great time designing this event.  The linens were a gorgeous mocha stripe.  Each guest received a knit scarf or hat to keep them warm in addition to sugar crystal brownies made by Melanie’s Sweet Treats.  The team at Soirée Productions had so much fun planning this wedding.  No detail was left behind.  The groom loves pine cones and we were able to incorporate pine cones throughout.  The culinary team at Log Haven provided an incredible menu and the service was extraordinary.  Carrie’s Cakes created a 3 tier cake each sporting a different flavor.  Soirée Productions helped Charisse surprise her groom with his favorite music; we had a piano delivered for him!   Thank you to Log Haven for making this day so great for the bride and groom.  It was a pleasure to work with such a great staff!

Lindsey and Thomas Vonn on their Wedding Day!

Lindsey and Thomas Vonn on their Wedding Day!

I have been a Lindsey Vonn fan ever since she walked into White Couture in 2007 to shop for her wedding gown.  Officially Lindsey Kildrow at the time, she was as kind and she is beautiful.  It was our pleasure to assist Lindsey with her gown fitting.  Of course she looked great in every gown she tried on.  Once Lindsey tried on Judd Waddell’s collection, we knew she had found her dress.  Lindsey chose a gorgeous Judd Waddell ballgown and a fingertip veil with just a light scatter of sparkle by Erin Cole.  She truly looked like a princess in a fairy tale.  Her ivory gown was made of duchess satin with a touch of lace.  Lindsey’s wedding was held at the Deer Valley Resort; she was glowing like the night snow.

Lori Gottlieb | Marry Him | Soirée Productions | White Couture

In honor of Valentine’s Week and all of us who have found Mr. Right

I don’t claim to be an expert in love and marriage but I am lucky enough to work with many couples in planning their wedding and hearing about their love stories.  I have to admit I am a sucker for tradition and love and want all of the facts.  A lot of wedding planners read design magazines but whenever I see or read something that talks about love, marriage and weddings I am immediately drawn to it.  I think everyone deserves to live happily ever after.

Marry Him reminds us what’s important.  I know many young women who are single and I too shared many of  the same opinions.  I encourage single women to read Lori’s book and find “Mr. Good Enough”.  I found my Mr. Right  at the age of 30 and am so glad I waited for him to come along.  I often hope for my single friends to find love.  Marry Him will give you a new prospective on dating.  We don’t want our friends to get caught on the top floor alone.  We all deserve to find love.  If you are lucky enough to have found love, I encourage you to pass Lori’s book along to a friend.

Here’s the background from the author herself:LoriGottlieb

You have a fulfilling job, a great group of friends, the perfect apartment, and no shortage of dates. So what if you haven’t found The One just yet. Surely he’ll come along, right?  But what if he doesn’t? Or even worse, what if he already has, but you just didn’t realize it?  Suddenly finding herself forty and single, Lori Gottlieb said the unthinkable in her March 2008 article in The Atlantic: Maybe she, and single women everywhere, needed to stop chasing the elusive Prince Charming and instead go for Mr. Good Enough.  Looking at her friends’ happy marriages to good enough guys who happen to be excellent husbands and fathers, Gottlieb declared it time to reevaluate what we really need in a partner. Her ideas created a firestorm of controversy from outlets like the Today show to The Washington Post, which wrote, “Given the perennial shortage of perfect men, Gottlieb’s probably got a point,” to Newsweek and NPR, which declared, “Lori Gottlieb didn’t want to take her mother’s advice to be less picky, but now that she’s turned forty, she wonders if her mother is right.” Women all over the world were talking. But while many people agreed that they should have more realistic expectations, what did that actually mean out in the real world, where Gottlieb and women like her were inexorably drawn to their “type”?

That’s where Marry Him comes in.

By looking at everything from culture to biology, in Marry Him Gottlieb frankly explores the dilemma that so many women today seem to face—how to reconcile the strong desire for a husband and family with a list of must-haves so long and complicated that many great guys get rejected out of the gate. Here Gottlieb shares her own journey in the quest for romantic fulfillment, and in the process gets wise guidance and surprising insights from marital researchers, matchmakers, dating coaches, behavioral economists, neuropsychologists, sociologists, couples therapists, divorce lawyers, and clergy—as well as single and married men and women, ranging in age from their twenties to their sixties.

Marry Him is an eye-opening, often funny, sometimes painful, and always truthful in-depth examination of the modern dating landscape, and ultimately, a provocative wake-up call about getting real about Mr. Right.

Marry Him has been optioned for film by Tobey Maguire for Warner Brothers.
