A Day at the Spa Montage…

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Recently, the lucky ladies of Soirée had the opportunity to experience the Spa at the Montage Deer Valley.

As one of the most gorgeous and new resorts in Park City, we of course had some high expectations for our experience.
We were beyond excited to be able to spend a day at the Montage Spa…we don’t often get the time to set aside just for relaxation. Kristin is a spa connoisseur and I had never had a spa treatment. EVER.

Clearly it could only be fantastic.

After we assessed their spa menu, we each selected different treatments and made our appointments.

Kristin selected a customized facial-which includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, vaporization, facial, neck and shoulder massage, as well as hydrating hand massage in addition to a customized treatment based on specific needs.

I chose the Après Ease treatment-which is a mud treatment with a point specific hydro massage and aromatherapy hydration treatment.

The Montage has extensive amenities and we spent the entire day relaxing before and after our treatments. Personally, I think setting aside the entire day to relax made the experience even more valuable.

We were greeted and escorted to a lovely ladies lounge and a glass of champagne.  Our clothes lockers each had a customized bag with treats in them, and we enjoyed the lounge and relaxed while we waited for our treatments to begin.

I was really taken aback by the amazing treatment rooms. They transport you to another place-where you truly feel like you can relax and forget about the world and everything else in life. Our treatments were simply amazing and it felt like the longest and most relaxing 60 minutes ever.

Between the views, the quiet and the fabulous therapist, I never wanted to leave.

After our treatments, we were escorted back to the ladies lounge where we could shower and further relax in the jacuzzi, the sauna, the steam room and the pool.

The spa at the Montage is a true reflection of everything the Montage is, and it not only met but exceeded the expectations we had. We are excited to be able to return for another amazing and special day of ultimate relaxation at the Spa Montage Deer Valley.

The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah

The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah

This has been a busy weekend.  The holidays keep us busy shopping and party planning but on Friday we were hosted by the Canyons Resort to enjoy A Taste of the Canyons.  What a fun night.  Party planners, former clients and their families were all invited to celebrate the holidays.  The event began on Friday evening with dinner in the Grand Summit ballroom where we were introduced to the many restaurants and wonderful chefs available for all of our party planning needs.  We dined on pork tenderloin prepared by the catering chefs, enjoyed couscous, stuffed chicken and ravioli’s to order by the Cabin Restaurant, cheese from around the world from the amazing Viking Yurt Restaurant.  Everyone needs to know about the Viking Yurt.  This amazing place sits on top of the mountain and can accommodate up to 32 guests for a fine dining experience.  There was so much food I could hardly stand after enjoying it all!  The big surprise was when Santa arrived with his bag of gifts for everyone.  The kids were impressed to see him arrive and couldn’t wait to visit with him.  After a quick visit and photos with Santa the kids were entertained with a giant screen where they played Wii for the remainder of the night while the adult guests danced and enjoyed the music provided by the Mark Chaney band.  I had to take a second look when I heard “Hey Jude”!  They made sure everyone was dancing and having a good time.

We finally called it a night and spent the night in a one bedroom suite at the beautiful Grand Summit Hotel.  Our room slept 6!  We had a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a king size bed, three twins and a queen bed.  What a great getaway.  This is a great hotel offering plenty of activities, The Village Shops, and a variety of restaurants.  The accommodations are amazing and offer affordable rates for everyone during the summer or winter.  Two of our favorite venues at the Canyons include the beautiful ballroom at the Grand Summit Hotel.  There ballroom is one of the largest in Park City and can accommodate up to 350 for a seated dinner.   The unique Red Pine Lodge at mid-mountain offers a beautiful atmosphere for dinner and dancing and a secluded ceremony site overlooking the mountainside.  The best part about Red Pine Lodge is getting there.  You and your guests are treated to a ride on the gondola – a short 13 minute ride up!

On Saturday morning we enjoyed one of the best breakfast buffets in town.  We dined at the Cabin Restaurant with Omlete’s made to order, hot cakes, sausage, country potatoes, and to top it off an espresso.  We must have gained 10 pounds in two days!  The day ended with a trip to the Grand Spa where we relaxed and were spoiled with two treatments.  We enjoyed a one hour massage and a one hour facial.  The spa offers a variety of treatments, 8 treatment rooms, an olympic size swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna, steam room and a piece of heaven.  I was so relaxed after this wonderful weekend I am ready for the holidays!  The Canyons Resort offers so many different venues for weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal spa days & luncheons you want to be sure to check it out.  We learned so much about the resort this weekend we invite you to call us and we’ll share all of the information with you or visit their website.  Thank you to the entire staff at the Canyons Resort for a great weekend and for including our families.  It was a great get-away!  Happy holidays.

Chef Reuben led the team and Carrie made an incredible banana foster. The dessert station was busy all night.

Members of the Mark Chaney band entertained us all night
